Kelly Sinacola Senior Business Process Engineer
With a background in business as well as information technology, Kelly Sinacola understands enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems both as a user and as a programmer analyst. In her higher education experience, she has developed solutions for business and finance applications, managed projects, and led technical teams to implement new features.
Using her facility with Datatel, she has customized WebAdvisor to so that students could manage parent access to grades, financial aid, schedule, and account statements, pay commitment deposits online, and sign up for on-campus housing options. Her customizations also allowed supervisors to view employee leave plans and created credit equivalency estimates for prospective transfer students.
She is noted for her ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with end users across a campus. Starting out as a help desk analyst gave her an understanding of user problems and taught her to develop techniques for making technical processes clear and manageable to those who contacted her. University staff, both technical and administrative, have benefitted from her training sessions for new technology.
Her other accomplishments include implementing an E-commerce and automatic billing solution, serving as the lead analyst/programmer for a dashboard and scorecard system, creating and implementing a project plan for UniQuery/UniBasic-to-SQL conversion, and assisting in bringing up Datatel Recruiter.
Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwood University, with a dual major in business administration and management of information systems. Her master’s in educational technology from Central Michigan University gives her additional insight into the teaching and learning process.
