LOCAL ADDRESS COLLECTION

Local Address Collection is a program customization that allows students to verify their local address when logging into WebAdvisor. After the user ID and password are validated, a process is called to determine if the student should verify their local address. There are four possible scenarios:
- The person logging in is not a student, or the student does not fall into the category of students who are required to verify their local address. In this case the user is taken directly to the main WebAdvisor menu.
- The person logging in is a student who should verify their local address, and the last verification was performed less than a year ago. The student is taken directly to the main WebAdvisor menu.
- The person logging in is a student who should verify their local address, and no local address exists. The student is taken to a form to enter a local address.
- The person logging in is a student who should verify their local addresses, and the last verification was performed over a year ago. The student is taken to a form to verify their address.
When a student updates a local address, the current local address is marked as former, and the new local address is made current. If the phone number is the only update, the current local address is kept current and the phone number and phone type are updated.
This process keeps records current which eliminates incomplete demographic information which can severely hamper effective outreach to students.
