Diane Deluca
Executive Business Process Engineer
Business Application Delivery Director

Diane Deluca is an Executive Business Process Engineer with Ferrilli Information Group. Diane has more than 22 years of progressive experience in information technology with over 10 of those years working in higher education with the Datatel Colleague system. Recently she has completed her Masters in Educational Technology. The focus of her degree was in the administration and management of educational technologies. Diane is using her knowledge to take a holistic approach to technological solutions by rolling out intuitive applications for students, faculty, and staff resulting in a high satisfaction and increased adoption rates.

Diane has worked for both private and public four-year universities and community colleges in the United States and Canada. She has expertise in all aspects of Datatel Colleague product including programming, implementation, integration, project management, business process mapping and security. She has worked both within institutions as a staff member, director, and as a consultant. Diane has gained exposure to a diverse range of institutions and projects. This exposure served not only to expand her project management and technical skills, but also to provide an opportunity to observe the delivery of IT services and practices across many institutions. The sum of these experiences has resulted in Diane being a major contributor to the Ferrilli Information Group knowledge base of best practices.

Diane initially started in higher education working as a consultant. Her responsibilities varied widely and included implementations (HR/Payroll, Student and WebAdvisor), project management, custom development work, development and delivery of training materials, and facilitating user groups. The clients ranged in all sizes including a five college consortium. The consortium required particular effort and coordination as they shared single instance of the Datatel Colleague software application. The product had to be carefully managed to deliver a consistent service level for the various constituents of the five schools.

Diane also worked at The Juilliard School in New York City as their Director of Administrative Systems. Her responsibilities included managing the programming and system administrative staff, overseeing all of the Datatel Colleague product’s administration, liaising with the school’s senior administration as well as the end users, and providing direction and leadership with respect to Colleague and any other administrative system needs. During her time at Juilliard Diane re-vamped the Datatel system backup and disaster recovery processes, implemented WebAdvisor and E-commerce, developed a customized Web-based leave transaction entry system for HR, along with several other Colleague related enhancements. In addition, Diane was instrumental in changing how Colleague was managed and perceived by the user community. By standardizing the project management process, Diane changed their Colleague department from ad hoc and disorganized to efficient and transparent, and received praise from the end user community for the improvement in the support and services they received.

While Diane has been with the Ferrilli Information Group she has fulfilled a variety of project roles in addition to management and development of our junior staff members. She is currently acting as an interim Director of Administrative Services at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida.  In this role she is responsible for the management and leadership of over 12 employees, project management, and the advancement of Datatel and other administrative systems within the college community.

Additionally, she successfully converted Benefactor to Colleague Advancement at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, played an instrumental role in the development of improved workflows and training at San Jose Evergreen Community College, developed a customized position budgeting reporting system for Regis University, as well as provided support for several other projects including WebAdvisor implementations for Student, HR and Payroll, several R18 conversions, and the development and delivery of a Colleague CORE training course.
